Marc Chesney has retired as holder of the Chair of Mathematical Finance at the University of Zurich, having previously been full Professor in the same field at HEC Paris, as well as Associate Dean in this latter academic institution. Over many years, he has been developing a critical analysis of casino finance, the commodification of the living world and the widespread academic complacency within economics towards the power of money. He is the published author of the book A Permanent Crisis – The Financial Oligarchy’s Seizing of Power and the Failure of Democracy, Palgrave Macmillan, 2018.
